Awards Luncheon For Kate
Yesterday (Monday, May 16th) Mike and I attended Kate's award luncheon at Hodel's. She was one of two kids in her class to receive the "Principal's Award" honoring her for maintaining a 4.0 GPA for at least 3 of the 4 quarters. We couldn't be more proud of her!
Still, this is bittersweet. In the other banquet room Loudon Elementary was holding their honor luncheon. Kate would have been in there, most likely with Ms. Atmore, had we kept her at her old school.
We had the opportunity to have lunch with Kate's two closest friends in her class and their moms. Gabby and Emily are absolutely adorable and very sweet girls. We couldn't be happier to find that Kate has made some very nice friends.
Last Saturday we took the family to Katie's piano recital where she played "Come Fairies Come" a sweet, pretty song, just perfect for a spring recital. She played it flawlessly (of course) and even Maggie seemed to enjoy the recital.
